And I thought stuffing a yard of mulch into a Chevy Avalanche was a bit tricky but today's request certainly takes the taco in terms of ridiculousness. An older gentleman cruised on in today, ordered and paid for a yard of pinebark and when I turned the corner to load up his pickup I was like, " umm yea, that's a minivan." I may not be a nuclear physicist but I'm pretty sure it's impossible to successfully fit, elevate, and dump two half yard scoops in the back of a MINIVAN! He was a little bewildered that I wouldn't at least try but I kindly told him that I didn't feel like buying him a new roof and rear door so I offered to shovel in the full yard instead. He accepted and that was that. Guess I should of been thankful that he didn't show up in a mini cooper.

Our pile of loam talings is growing larger by the day so before it starts to take our whole yard over we need to get some out asap. Best part of the deal is that the tailings are FREE. You come with a big truck, ten wheeler, tri-axle, or dump trailer and we'll load you no charge. We'll deliver it to you but there will be a delivery fee as petroleum is not too cheap these days. Closer you are the lower the delivery fee will be. No pick-up trucks please, not really worth our while to get rid of a half yard at a time.

Well I don't know if Harry Dunn was talking about our freshly screened 3/8 mountainous loam pile mixed with compost, but nonetheless it's still pretty heaping. $24 a yard, get it while it lasts, and discounts may apply for larger orders.

And I thought I was getting old because I'm turning 30 next month. Ribeiro Enterprises and Bakers Landscaping joined forces today to help celebrate Norton's big 300th bday. Dylan and the Nighthawk aka Vito worked hard all day yesterday to create our Frates Dairy Float, an old Norton Reservoir hotspot back in the 50's and 60's which was started up by my grandfather. It's hard to fathom a hot dog, hamburger, or frappe of your choice only costing a quarter. Now a days you can't even buy a sesame seed of the hamburger bun for a quarter.

The Bakers blog is finally up and running thanks to one of our in house computer nerds Rick. I'm just kidding, don't know too many computer geeks who put out fires for a living while also finding time to operate heavy machinery on the side.

Anyway, for those not in the Norton social loop, Bakers Landscaping and Retail Yard is now under new ownership. My brother Dylan and I are excited about our new venture, the sky's the limit and we are eagarly anticipating a bright new future here at Bakers.
